1st Amendment Danger, Democrat Attacks News Network
A notable news network is going under investigation after a prominent Democrat decided to attack the freedom of the press.
Fox News is being accused of refusing to publish alleged “proof” that President Donald Trump had an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels.
House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings is leading the investigation and claims that he is only looking into a “potential campaign violation.” However, given that his probe is only calling for a single witness many are questioning wether his actions violate constitutional rights.
Things began when The New Yorker published a story by Jane Mayer that suggested former Fox News digital editor Ken LaCorte was unwilling to publish a story about an affair between then-candidate Donald Trump and Daniels.
However LaCorte asserts that the story was mostly based on rumor and a single post from a gossip site called The Dirty.
Reporter Diana Falzone defends the report and even filed a lawsuit against Fox News for gender and disability discrimination. That should have been the end of it given that she signed a non-disclosure agreement with Fox.
But then her attorney, Nancy Erika Smith, delivered a public statement to MSNBC that Falzone would be able to bypass the non-disclosure agreement if Congress asked for her testimony.
That’s where Cummings has opted to grossly abuse his position and jump in. He heard the Democrat call to slander Trump and has now requested Falzone submit all “documents relating to President Donald Trump’s reporting of debts and payments to silence women alleging extramarital affairs with him prior to the 2016 presidential election.”
This is an example of a direct attack from Democrats against a news network in order to get another shot at President Trump. The system is breaking down a Democrats refuse to accept the rightful POTUS.
